How To Use Bluehost CPanel

To begin with, have a look at my earlier manual on how best to buy Webhosting and domain name from Bluehost, and in case you already have an account or planing to get one, watch the above video.
So first, visit Bluehost.com, click on the login link at the
top and now in the hosting login, write down the domain which you used to buy
the web hosting, maybe you have bought a new domain that is a free domain name
you receive together with the Bluehost or when you've used your own domain,
simply use the domain name, enter the password and then click on submit, and
this will take you to the Bluehost cPanel and you might get like any sort of
advertising messages such as this and I'd recommend only click on "no,
thanks I'm not interested". You can buy Bluehost using the Bluehost Discount Coupons.
All right, so this is what the house of Bluehost looks like,
here you are able to do everything, so simply to give you an idea, you can
visit email and create your own free email that Bluehost offers, if you would
like to install WordPress, you may simply click on install WordPress and it
will take you to page where you are able to install WordPress with like two
clicks, so I'll also do a movie for the same after this movie.
Now, this is most important, such as the file manager in the
FTP account, so if you would like to create a new FTP account, you can create
that, this is good especially if you are giving an accessibility to your
website to a web developer and you want him to make changes, so this can
maintain a monitor, so instead of giving your main FTP account, create another
FTP accounts, Bluehost enables you to create unlimited FTP account and this is
where ,domain name manager is where you will see the detail of this domain, you
can add new domain over here, if you have not utilized the free domain here ,
you can even buy, you may add a free domain at the moment from here.
So yes, apart from that, it is also possible to click on the
hyperlinks at the top, cPanel will require you to the typical cPanel that you
see on various hosting which is the norm, so they have a little of, they
customize the appearance and texture of the cPanel but by the end of the day,
it's the identical cPanel that you view on uninstall the shared hosting or
about the standard hosting, similarly you can click on FTP databases and check
out the databases that you have created, domains will take you to the domain
manager where you could buy a new domain name and see what all domains do you
have, so these are the fast links, anyway like you can get everything from the
homepage or you may directly click there, so here you may click on enroll and
start register a new domain name. Well, like I said, you already have one
completely free domain name that you can purchase from Bluehost, if you haven't
used it while buying the hosting, you can use them at once, and you can use
them anytime on your hosting period.
You've setup your hosting accounts with BlueHost and thus it
is time to review the Bluehost home panel. It is actually a mixture of several
things. It has got part of it's cPanel and it's got some other hosting
information and tools here.
Throughout the top of this page you have their menu with
Home, which is what we're looking at right now. You've got Hosting and once you
click on Hosting, this really does require you to your cPanel. You can see
there's an awful lot of visual similarity between Home and cPanel. On Home,
they've got this Getting Started section that sits up there in the top and then
they've got this Main cPanel Features.
CPanel Characteristics
The features displayed in blue are displayed and you can see
them here but when it's in gray you can not. For instance, we could turn on
database and now the database information is here. If we click on it again the
database is not shown. This gives you sort of a quick start section should you
want to go ahead and also to selectively turn off and on components.
Generally, I simply start in cPanel that's likely to shows
all the features. You just click on the cPanel icon here and you have all those
very same options without the choice of turning it on and turning it off.
Domains Page
BlueHost does let you host what they say is an unlimited
number of sites or an unlimited number of domains. In other words, there is no
specific limit on the number of domains you can have on your hosting accounts
and so you can easily add extra domain names.
Add Subdomains
You can also easily add additional subdomains. You'd do that
from this Domain section here.
Addons Page and Account Page
Under Addons, again you've got all of the other things that
they would be happy to promote you. Under Account, you've got the rest of the
information here on your accounts. This is the information that is going to be
stored on record as the owner of this domain name. There's your contact
information and so on.
Set Page Settings
Under Account that you can set passwords, you can buy any
products, you may set up your payment settings and you may set up your startup
settings. Let us click on Settings. And here, for example, you can choose after
loging into automatically visit the cPanel main page.
You could always select a different login page and once you
login it could take you someplace else instead. In any situation, there's some
email settings plus some payment settings as well.
cPanel/Hosting Page Options
So that is the big summary of this. Let's go back over to
Home and take a peek at the second menu that shows up here. Among the items
which you can select is cPanel which again is essentially the exact same thing
as this Hosting link upon the main menu. Click on either and it shows you all
of cPanel.
Let's click on the Server icon in the secondary menu here.
This states "Your account is now not verified. Before continuing we need
to verify your account". You have a couple of choices, you can either
confirm by phone or you can confirm by email.
I will confirm by phone and once I get done with that I
shall come back. So I was on hold for approximately 5 minutes to find that
confirmed but now that it is verified, you may see the Server Management no
longer demonstrates that it is not verified and we can proceed with anything
else we want to perform.
Email
Aside from Server there, here's email and you can use this
to set up email addresses which we will perform in the next lesson.
Site
Beneath Website, it shows you 3 different systems it's for
assisting you to create websites. Obviously we are going to do ours in
WordPress but there are other options available to you that are not as flexible
or as powerful but nevertheless are available.
FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
Additionally you have FTP and FTP stands for File Transfer
Protocol and it is the way that you can transfer files from your computer to
your host and back. We're going to look at this in Lesson 4, Setup Your FTP
System.
Database
Database is something which you don't really need to worry
about. When we install WordPress, database will be automatically created for
you but it's usually not something which you have to interact with especially
at a beginning level.
Manage IPs There's nothing that you have to do in order to
handle your IP address or anything like that. You could add a dedicated IP
address if you wish to invest the additional money but otherwise, it's just
demonstrating what the IP address is of your site.
cPanel - Area Review
Let us return to the cPanel area. We're likely to spend most
of our time together in cPanel and when we're considering cPanel it has a whole
lot of different segments and you'll be able to close and open those segments.
We'll start off with Mail in Lesson 2, Setup and Configure
Email, because we'll be generating an email account for this website and
hooking it up to your mail client.
You can skip past the Mojo Marketplace. It's essentially
different methods of selling you additional things through BlueHost.
Come down to File Management. We are likely to devote just a
little bit of time in Lesson 4, Setting up Your FTP, looking at the File
Manager and looking at the record structure of your website but we will not do
this in this time here.
Domain Direction again, basically follows the same stuff
that exist up here on the Domains page.
Upgrades are generally just things which you can enhance
your accounts to get just a small bit of money. Professional Services are
fairly much the same thing, Promotional are basically credits free to use to
market and if you like it you can continue paying for advertisements.
It's really pretty technical and it's probably not the simplest
method for a beginner to have a peek at their Data. We are going to look at
simpler ways later when we reach Lesson 13, Integrating Your Website with
Google.
Again, Security is something that you're not likely to do
anything with at all. For Database Tools, whatever database work we perform
will occur automatically so that you won't need to use these tools.
Software and Services will be precisely the same thing. They
are pretty advanced sections.
Preferences enables you to change a password. If you're not
working in English, you may change your language and they have got some the way
to movies, webinars and some getting started stuff. All of this is well worth
taking a peek at.
This Advanced section, actually is advanced and that I would
not bother with any of this whatsoever. And then they have people that they
enjoy that they would refer you to and that is what these links are.
We are going to have a peek at some of those sections in
more detail in later classes but there should be sufficient to get you started
and help you around the website.
